Pox·Net connects Medlab's pulse oximeters to a central base-station through a wireless link. The central monitor displays up to six patient's pulse rates and oxygen saturations. The system uses the DECT standard for transmission, which is accepted in more than 100 countries worldwide. The base-station has configurable optical and audible alarms for all parameters and patients, at a fraction of the price of a normal central monitor. An added benefit is that the slimline device can be wall-mounted, saving valuable space in medical environments. Because of the wireless connection, installation of the system only takes a very short time.
The typical maximum distance between transmitter and central main monitor is 60m in buildings. The maximum reachable distance varies due to different factors.
